A Dynamic New Educational Offering with Links to Exciting Careers
Cars to compact discs… Interstate highways to the Internet… medical imaging to microwaves… space exploration to satellite television systems…
Engineering sparks progress and makes everyday life safer, more efficient — and more fun. And as famous engineers like former astronaut Neil Armstrong know, the 21st-Century is opening a whole universe of exciting new opportunities for aspiring engineers. Now a new high school option in Cincinnati Public Schools introduces students to the fascinating field of engineering. Opening for 9th-graders in August 2002, the Western Hills Design Technology High School is a pre-engineering program that features a project-based curriculum and develops creative problem-solving skills. At the same time, students gain a strong academic foundation preparing them for graduation, college and a satisfying career.
